Keith
Russell, president of the
PDCA, has formed a committee to gather some new ideas
to help our Regional Training Center efforts. These ideas
will be presented to the Board of Directors at the spring
meeting on April 22nd. The goal of this committee will be
to be to offer ideas to improve the Regional Training Center
Concept (adopted USD Convention 1996). The committee will
focus their efforts on the training centers to be opened in
the future. The 2 current centers (Indianapolis and Oklahoma
City) are great models for us to use to make the new ones
even better.
The goal of the
RTC project (1996) was to have at least five Regional sites
and one national site. We have all learned a lot about training
centers, and centralized training since they have become a
reality. We as coaches have been discussing the merits of
our collective efforts on the pool deck for the past 6 years.
This project is a reality! It is time to get the ideas discussed
on the pool deck into the appropriate committee meetings to
be worked on so we all can share in its success and learn
from our failures.
"As we move
through this evolutionary period we all have the responsibility
to continue offering input throughout the renaissance."
Please think outside
of the box and don't be shy about sharing what may seem to
be an off the wall idea. The committee will consider all ideas
submitted to elitedive@aol.com
by March 27th.
